What is a zine?
Zines are fan magazines, also named “fanzines”, that is to say, books of unofficial content relating to a particular fandom or set of fandoms. Zines are often centered on a theme, character or ship, and may or may not be offered with additional merch items. L’Illusionniste et le Duc (‘The Illusionist and The Duke’) is a zine about the romantic relationship between Wriothesley and Lyney from Genshin Impact. We are not centered on any specific dynamic, and are instead celebrating their relationship in all its forms.What is the format of this zine?
L’Illusionniste et le Duc is a for-profit, A5 physical main SFW zine with digital options, as well as physical and digital merch. We will also have a digital NSFW add-on zine. For this reason, potential contributors are required to be 18+ at the time applications close.Our NSFW add-on zine allows any Wrioney/Lysley dynamic and will include dead dove/problematic content. The sections will be clearly demarcated and all pieces will come with applicable content warnings for reader comfort.What are the content guidelines?
SFW pieces must not feature any NSFW elements.

You can find all application guidelines and accepted contributor expectations in this document. All application forms will also contain the guidelines for your reference.How will the NSFW zine work?
All contributors have the option of contributing to the NSFW zine, in addition to their main SFW piece. We may accept a small number of contributors who only want to create for the NSFW zine; they may create up to two (2) pieces depending on final numbers.Will headcanons be allowed? How much freedom do we have to play around with Wriothesley and Lyney's designs?
As L’Illusionniste et le Duc has no specific theme, all headcanons and alternate designs are allowed as long as they follow our guidelines.How will contributors be compensated?
We aim to compensate contributors with free full bundles including shipping, but this will depend on sales. Profits will first go towards production, including contributor copies, and any leftovers will be distributed to contributors + mods via PayPal.Contributors may opt out of physical compensation and receive only financial compensation instead.If we fail to break even, contributors may purchase physical copies at production cost. All contributors will receive free digital copies.Friendly Reminders

If a contributor is found to have ignored this rule, Mods have the right to remove them from the project.♦️ We plan to give all applicants an equal chance. Therefore, follower count and content produced/consumed outside of the zine will not have any influence on our decision. However, we expect accepted contributors to adhere to the project's guidelines.How do zines work?
Like all long-term projects, fanzines typically go through several phases before they can land in your hands. The phases are as such:
— Interest check: This is a general poll to measure interest in the project and determine its specifications based on what kind of content its potential buyers would like to see in the final product.
— Applications: People who would like to contribute to the fanzine will be able to submit a portfolio to apply for a position among the zine’s contributors. Mods will then determine which artists, merch artists and writers will have their work showcased in the zine.
— Creation: Over several months, contributors will produce their pieces.
— Preorders: Fanzines are usually produced on a preorder basis so the mod team can determine how many items are needed to fulfill the demand, since zine production costs are quite heavy. Once the preorders are over, we will proceed with manufacturing all of the items included in bundles and then ship them out to you once we have received them.
